Unscramble

Rearrange scrambled letters into real words, against the clock.

About Unscramble

Unscramble is a timed word game. You are shown a rack of jumbled letters and one hidden word that uses all of them. Type the word, press Enter, and the next scramble appears immediately. The run keeps going until the clock expires, so the only thing that limits your score is how fast you can see through the jumble.

Everyone who plays on a given day gets the same words in the same order, drawn from a fixed daily seed. That makes the leaderboard a fair comparison rather than a lottery: if someone beat your score, they solved the identical puzzles faster. A practice mode reshuffles from a fresh seed whenever you want another run without touching your daily result.

The word list is the public-domain ENABLE dictionary, so every answer is a real English word you can look up. There is no account to create and no download β€” the game runs in the browser on a phone or a desktop.

Unscramble rules

  1. 1.Rearrange the shuffled letters to spell the hidden word.
  2. 2.Type your answer and press Submit (or Enter).
  3. 3.Tap πŸ”€ Shuffle to rearrange the tiles if you get stuck.
  4. 4.Solving words back-to-back builds a streak β€” streaks multiply your score.
  5. 5.Skipping a word breaks your streak but keeps the clock running.

How to win at Unscramble

Look for suffixes before you look for words
Pull -ING, -ION, -EST, -ERS or -IES out of the rack first. A ten-letter rack with -ING removed is a six-letter problem, and six letters is a size your eye can solve whole.
Shuffle instead of staring
The shuffle button rearranges the tiles without costing you time. Your brain latches onto the order it first saw; a reshuffle breaks that grip far faster than re-reading the same arrangement.
Protect the streak, not the word
Consecutive solves multiply your score, and skipping breaks the streak while the clock keeps running. A word you will crack in four seconds is worth more than a skip, so give yourself one extra beat before you bail.
Anchor on the rare letters
Q, J, X, Z and V appear in very few positions. If the rack has one, decide where it can legally sit and the rest of the word usually falls out around it.
