Solitaire

Klondike Solitaire with a daily deal that is always winnable. Draw-1 and Draw-3.

About Solitaire

This is Klondike, the Solitaire that shipped with Windows and the one most people mean by the word. Seven tableau piles, a stock you draw from, and four foundations to build Ace through King in each suit. Tableau stacks descend in alternating colours, only a King can start an empty column, and the game is won when all fifty-two cards reach the foundations.

The daily deal is verified solvable before it is served. That matters more than it sounds: a large share of random Klondike deals cannot be won by any sequence of moves, so an unwinnable deal tells you nothing about how well you played. Here, if you are stuck, a line exists and you have not found it yet.

Both draw modes are available. Draw-1 turns one card at a time and is the gentler game; Draw-3 turns three and is the version serious players score. Fewer moves means a higher score.

Solitaire rules

  1. 1.Build four foundation piles (one per suit) from Ace up to King.
  2. 2.In the tableau, stack cards in descending order, alternating red and black.
  3. 3.Tap the stock pile (top-left) to draw new cards.
  4. 4.The daily deal is always winnable β€” keep going if you're stuck!
  5. 5.Fewer moves = higher score.

How to win at Solitaire

Uncover the deepest column first
Face-down cards are the only real currency in Klondike. Given a choice of equal-looking moves, take the one that flips a card in your tallest hidden pile β€” the column with the most buried cards is the one most likely to lock you out later.
Do not rush cards to the foundation
A low card sent to the foundation early is a card you cannot use to build in the tableau. Hold twos and threes back until you can see that nothing needs them, especially in Draw-3.
Empty a column only for a King you have
An empty column is worthless unless a King is available to occupy it, and clearing one without a King in hand usually just relocates your problem. Check that the King exists and is reachable first.
Learn the Draw-3 cycle
In Draw-3 the stock presents cards in a fixed rotation, so the card you skip now returns in a predictable position. Playing a card out of the waste changes that rotation for everything behind it β€” which is exactly how a stuck Draw-3 game gets unstuck.

Solitaire questions

Is the daily Solitaire deal always winnable?
Yes. Each daily deal is checked to be solvable before it is served, so being stuck means a line exists that you have not found.
What is the difference between Draw-1 and Draw-3?
Draw-1 turns a single card from the stock per tap and is easier. Draw-3 turns three at a time, so only every third card is immediately playable.
How is Solitaire scored here?
Completing the game in fewer moves scores higher, which rewards planning over rapid trial and error.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The game runs in your browser on desktop and mobile, with no download and no signup.
