Sports Trivia
Twelve questions across seven sports, or pick one sport and go deep.
About Sports Trivia
Twelve questions per run spanning the Olympics, American football, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf and hockey. You can take the mixed run or filter to a single sport if you would rather be tested on the one you actually follow.
A timer runs on each question and speed contributes to your score. Consecutive correct answers build a streak multiplier that a single miss resets, and answering correctly in all seven sports on a mixed run earns a sweep bonus.
Every question is a settled historical fact — a completed result, a final record, a career total — not an opinion or a live statistic that will be wrong next week. Each one shows its source after the reveal.
That constraint is the reason the question pool avoids anything in motion. A question about who leads a league this season is wrong within days and impossible to verify later; a question about a completed final, a career total or a record that has already been set stays true and stays checkable. It also makes the single-sport filter genuinely useful, because the depth within each sport is historical rather than a thin layer of current headlines.

How to win at Sports Trivia
- Filter to your sport for a high score
- The single-sport filter removes the six categories you would otherwise be guessing in. If the leaderboard is the goal, a focused run in the sport you follow beats a mixed run every time.
- Take the mixed run for the sweep
- The sweep bonus requires a correct answer in all seven sports, so it is only reachable on a mixed run. It is worth enough that one careful mixed run can beat several sloppy focused ones.
- Date the question before you answer
- Most sports questions turn on an era. Work out roughly what decade is being asked about and the plausible answers shrink immediately, because dynasties and record-holders are clustered in time.
- Know one anchor fact per sport
- You do not need depth in all seven sports to survive a mixed run — you need one reliable anchor in each, such as the country that dominates a given Olympic event or the franchise that owns a decade. An anchor turns a blind guess into a reasoned one, which is the whole difference on the sweep bonus.
- Answer the sport you know first when filtering
- If you are chasing a leaderboard position rather than the sweep, the filtered run removes six categories of risk. Play your sport, build the streak on questions you can answer instantly, and let the multiplier carry the harder ones at the end of the run.
Sports Trivia questions
- Which sports are covered?
- The Olympics, American football, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf and hockey.
- Can I play just one sport?
- Yes. A filter restricts the run to a single sport instead of drawing across all seven.
- What is the sweep bonus?
- A bonus awarded for answering correctly in all seven sports during a mixed run.
- Are the answers sourced?
- Yes. Every question is a settled historical fact and displays its source after the reveal.
- Are there questions about the current season?
- No. The pool is restricted to settled results and completed records, so an answer that is correct today stays correct and can still be checked against its source later.
- Does answering faster score more in Sports Trivia?
- Yes. Each question carries a speed component and consecutive correct answers build a multiplier that a single miss resets.
