Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of parlordaily.com(“we”, “us”). By using Parlor at parlordaily.com you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

This is a draft written for a public beta, last updated 2026-09-22. It has not been reviewed by an attorney. We will update it before the beta ends; the date at the top of this page changes when we do.

Parlor is a general-audience site for adults and teens. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. There is no age gate, because we do not ask for a date of birth or any other detail about you.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete the account and the data tied to it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, write to us at the contact address published on this page once it is set (UNSPECIFIED — a contact address has not been published yet during the beta).

You can play every game without signing up. To keep leaderboards honest, the site asks our server for a random device idand stores it in your browser. That id is not linked to your name, email or anything else about you — we do not ask for any of those. Clearing your browser’s site data starts you over with a new one.

Scores you post while playing anonymously appear on leaderboards under a label derived from that id. They are not tied to a person until you create an account and claim them.

An account is a handle (3–20 letters, numbers or underscores) and a password (8 or more characters). That is all we require. You may add an email address to your account; it is optional and used only to send you a verification link, to reset a forgotten password, and — if prizes are ever introduced — to reach you if you win. We store a salted hash of your password, never the password itself, so we cannot tell you what it is if you forget it. Password reset only works if you added an email and verified it, and only once email delivery is switched on for this deployment. Without one, choose a password you will remember.

• One account per person. Do not create accounts for other people or share yours.
• Your handle, display name, avatar, level, badges and per-game stats are public on your profile page and on leaderboards.
• Do not pick a handle that impersonates someone else or that is abusive.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account. Sign out on shared devices.

An account may claim the anonymous play history of up to 8 devices in total, and up to 3 within a short window. This limit exists to stop one person folding many identities into one entry.

Daily challenges give everyone the same board so scores are comparable. That only works if everyone plays it once, by hand. You agree not to:

• Play a ranked daily more than once per game per day, on any number of devices or accounts, to pick your best run.
• Use bots, scripts, solvers, browser automation, or another person’s help to play or to submit scores.
• Tamper with, forge, or replay score submissions, device ids, timers or moves.
• Exploit a bug to gain rank instead of reporting it.

Our server checks every ranked submission by replaying your moves against the day’s seed, times your run from when the board was issued, and rejects results that are impossible or implausibly fast. We may remove any score, badge, streak or rank, and suspend or delete any account or device id, that we believe was obtained unfairly, with or without notice. Our judgement on this is final during the beta.

No prizes are offered during the public beta. Leaderboard rank, points, XP, badges and streaks have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for anything.

We have said publicly that we would like to reward top players one day. We are not doing that yet, on purpose: a prize tied to a leaderboard is a contest, and contests come with legal rules (official rules, eligibility checks, state registration in some places, tax reporting) and with a much stronger anti-cheat and identity requirement than a beta has. If prizes are ever introduced, they will come with their own official rules, will require a verified account, and these terms will change first. Nothing on the site today is a promise of a prize.

Signed-in players can send short messages (typed text, quick phrases and emotes) in public channels and privately to friends. What you send is yours, but you give us permission to store it and show it to the people it was sent to. You must follow the Community Rules and the Acceptable Use policy. We may remove messages and restrict chat for anyone who breaks them.

The Parlor name, artwork, writing, sounds and code are ours or used under licence. Game mechanics (how Hearts or Sudoku work) belong to no one. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial play. You may not copy, scrape, resell or build a competing product from our assets or code. The word list is the public-domain ENABLE list.

This is a beta. Games, scoring, leaderboards and features will change, break, and sometimes disappear. Scores may be reset when scoring formulas change. We may change these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes and continued use means you accept the new version. For a significant change we will try to say so on the site.

You can stop using Parlorat any time. Signing out deletes your session. There is not yet a self-service “delete my account” button — to have your account and its data deleted, write to us at the contact address published on this page once it is set (UNSPECIFIED — a contact address has not been published yet during the beta). We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

Parlor is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind — not that it will be available, accurate, bug-free, or that scores will be preserved. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site. Where the law does not allow these limits, they apply as far as it does.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Placeholder — verify with counsel, including whether a venue clause, arbitration clause or class-action waiver is appropriate, and whether any of it is enforceable against consumers in other states.
