Acceptable Use

This policy applies to everyone who uses Parlor, with or without an account, and to every part of the site: games, leaderboards, multiplayer rooms, chat, whispers, profiles and the Ruckus experiment. It is part of the Terms of Service. Chat-specific etiquette is on the Community Rules page.

Daily challenges only mean something if everyone plays the same board once, unaided. Do not:

• Play a ranked daily more than once per game per day across devices or accounts to submit your best attempt.
• Use solvers, bots, macros, scripts, browser automation or another person to play or to submit results.
• Look up the day’s board or its solution elsewhere and then submit a ranked score.
• Modify, forge or replay the data your browser sends us — moves, timers, device ids, signatures or scores.
• Interfere with the timing checks, the one-shot rule, or the replay validation.

Practice mode is unranked. Play it however you like.

• Do not create more than one account, or create accounts on behalf of others, to gain rank, rewards or a second chance at a daily.
• Do not claim anonymous play history that is not your own.
• Do not share, sell or transfer an account.
• Do not use a handle or display name that impersonates a real person, a staff member, or Parlor itself, or that is abusive or obscene.

In chat, whispers, room names, handles and anywhere else other people can see you, do not:

• Harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, or target them because of who they are.
• Post slurs, sexual content, or content that sexualises minors in any way.
• Post or ask for anyone’s personal information — phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, other accounts. The chat filter rejects contact details on purpose.
• Spam, flood, advertise, or post links.
• Pretend to be someone else, including staff.

Blocking exists on the server (a blocked player cannot message you or send you requests) but there is not yet a block button in the interface. Until there is, write to us at the contact address published on this page once it is set (UNSPECIFIED — a contact address has not been published yet during the beta) and we will apply the block for you.

• Do not probe, scan, overload or attack the site or its APIs, or attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours.
• Do not scrape leaderboards, profiles or chat at volume, or reproduce the site’s artwork, sounds, copy or code elsewhere.
• Do not exploit a bug. Report it instead and we will thank you; scores earned through a bug will be removed either way.
• Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

Depending on how serious it is, we may:

• Reject a submission at the door (implausible timing, failed replay, invalid signature).
• Remove scores, badges, streaks, task points or rank, on any account or device id involved.
• Refuse or delete chat messages.
• Suspend or delete an account or a device id, with or without warning.
• Keep records of what happened for as long as we need to keep the leaderboards honest.

During the beta there is no formal appeals process. If you think we got it wrong, write to us at the contact address published on this page once it is set (UNSPECIFIED — a contact address has not been published yet during the beta), and a human will look.

There is not yet an in-app report button; it is on our list. Until then, to report cheating, abuse or a security issue, write to us at the contact address published on this page once it is set (UNSPECIFIED — a contact address has not been published yet during the beta). Please include the handle, the game, the approximate time, and what you saw.
